Despite being discontinued, it's' still available to download. Is Picasa still available? Although it is now discontinued, Picasa is still available to download and use offline. Picasa was created by a company named Lifescape in 2002. In July 2004, Google acquired Picasa and began offering it as freeware. In February 2016, however, Google announced it was discontinuing support for Picasa Desktop and Web Albums.

However, the upload function on Picasa's' website does not allow you to upload videos. For uploading videos on Picasa you need to use Picasa software for Windows or Mac. On Linux, Picasa's' software does not import videos so if you're' using Linux you can't' upload videos on Picasa Web albums.

Google to ditch Picasa photo editor.
It was set up in 2002 with the help of entrepreneur Bill Gross's' Idealab, and it was acquired by Google in 2004. But Picasa's' popularity has faded drastically, and Google Photos offers much of the same editing options and facial recognition technology.

Jul 22, 2010 at 9:34.: I found more information about Picasa's' RAW processing, particularly that it uses Dcraw on the back-end. One of the consequences of this processing is that Picasa always normalizes the exposure of your RAW photos so that 1 of the pixels are white.

Excellent photo viewer from the computer, it dates me or orders the images by time, I have been using it for a long time, I take advantage of this modern version. omontesb 9 months ago. This program is very good, I use it to see the images on my disk, it is fast and they are displayed on what I have, I have not stopped using it although it was discontinued and I install it on my c. javaloyes in 2021. I find in Picasa a lot of photos that I don't' want in this place like - for example - all the covers or almost of the thousands of discs. R nI'm' waiting to be able to download this version.
